Equine Salt Lick Range for Feed and Tack Distributors

Choosing an equine salt lick for a distributor’s retail range starts with how the product will be mounted, sold and replaced. HS Salt supplies Himalayan rock salt products from Pakistan and welcomes enquiries from equestrian brands, tack shops and equine distributors. Use this buying guide to define your range, then review our Himalayan salt lick exporter page for an export enquiry.

Hanging Block or Holder-Fit Block?

A hanging item needs an agreed hole and rope arrangement. A holder-fit item needs dimensions that match the holder, as well as the required net salt weight. A photograph of the shape is useful, but it should be accompanied by measurements and a description of the intended mounting system.

Weight Bands Matter More Than a Size Name

Natural-cut salt is not necessarily identical from piece to piece. If you want a range sold by nominal weight, define the permitted tolerance and how the weight is described on the pack. If your customer is comparing physical size, provide dimensions as well as weight; the two should not be treated as interchangeable.

Create a separate SKU for each agreed weight or format. A hanging block with an included rope should be distinguishable in the order schedule from a bare block intended for an existing holder. This helps keep catalogue descriptions, carton labels and receiving checks consistent.

Make the Pack Contents Clear to the End User

State what is supplied: one salt block, a multipack, or a block with specified accessories. Agree whether product images show the supplied item or an example mounting arrangement. The buyer should be able to identify the size, net weight and included parts without having to infer them from a photograph.

Avoid presenting a natural salt block as a complete mineral feed or guaranteeing changes in health or performance. Any composition statement should match the relevant product information. Feeding and suitability questions should be reviewed for the intended animal and feeding programme rather than answered by a general sales claim.

Plan a Simple Equine Retail Assortment

  • Identify the mounting formats your customers already use.
  • Choose the required weight bands and assign clear SKU names.
  • Approve the sample, dimensions, accessories and pack presentation.
  • List pieces per carton and the net and gross carton weights.
  • Confirm the reorder specification so later deliveries use the same reference.
