Compressed vs Natural Himalayan Salt Licks

Compressed and natural-cut salt licks can appear in the same wholesale search, but a buyer should identify the required format before comparing offers. HS Salt supplies Himalayan salt products from Pakistan. Use this guide to describe your enquiry; review our Himalayan salt lick range and livestock block specifications for related products.

Identify the Product Form in Writing

A natural-cut block retains a rock-based outline or a cut shape, with the natural variation agreed in the specification. A compressed product is supplied in a formed block format. The label compressed does not, by itself, establish the ingredients, dimensions, weight tolerance or manufacturing specification.

Ask the supplier to identify the actual product form and composition for the proposed order. Do not assume that two products with the same nominal weight fit the same holder or have the same pack contents. Any requested compressed format must be reviewed separately for availability; this guide is not confirmation of an HS Salt compressed product line.

Comparison pointDetails to check
Product formNatural-cut, natural rock or a specifically identified compressed format.
CompositionThe relevant product specification and any declared additions.
Weight and dimensionsUnit net weight, permitted tolerance and the physical size.
MountingHolder fit, drilled hole, rope arrangement and included parts.
PackingPieces per pack, pack protection and carton weights.

Large Block Weight Is Different from Carton Weight

A description containing 15 kg or 20 kg needs a clearly stated unit. It could refer to a requested individual block, an outer pack or a total order quantity. Ask the supplier to identify the number of pieces and the net weight of each piece before treating a listing as a size offer.

For example, a carton described as 20 kg net could contain four blocks of 5 kg each if that is the agreed specification. This is a calculation example only, not a confirmed HS Salt carton pack or an offer of a 20 kg block. List each requested size and piece count separately.

Compare Like-for-Like Samples

Retain the sample reference for the exact format being quoted. Check the agreed outline, finish, dimensions, mounting arrangement and pack contents against that reference. A sample of one product form should not silently become the approval reference for another.

If appearance matters to your retail range, identify the acceptable natural colour and surface variation. If a composition claim is needed, request the relevant information for the product being quoted rather than inferring composition from the colour or the word mineral.

Avoid Unsupported Performance Comparisons

A product description alone does not prove that one block lasts longer or produces a better animal-health result. Keep the purchasing comparison focused on the documented product, its intended presentation and the specification agreed for the order. Salt licks should not be presented as a complete replacement for a formulated feed or mineral ration.
